Job Summary
Field HSE Environmental Specialist responsible for managing hazardous, non-hazardous, and special waste streams (including used oil), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, and maintaining required records. Will perform routine inspections of waste accumulation facilities, manage SPCC and SWPPP-related inspections and materials, respond to spills as field lead, sample waste streams for profiling, maintain Safety Data Sheets, develop and maintain environmental processes/policies, conduct risk assessments and audits, and prepare compliance reports and documentation for inspectors. Requires field testing participation, strong regulatory knowledge, and effective communication with regulatory agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders. Must have a bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering/chemistry (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or chemistry, or equivalent combination of education/experience
- 2+ years of related environmental specialist experience
- Strong computer capability including Microsoft Office programs
- Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Attention to detail and timely task execution
- Analytical abilities
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the Company as well as outside stakeholders (regulatory agencies, customers)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
