Job Summary
Field Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic needed for Saskatoon branch with the flexibility to work at the Saskatoon site or rotate via fly-in/fly-out to camps (out of Saskatoon or Prince Albert). Responsibilities include preventative maintenance of Herc-owned fleet at long-term customer job sites; performing oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose and battery work; diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment including fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems; replacing parts to restore safe operation; educating customers on proper equipment use; generating detailed service reports; maintaining a clean, safe work area; adhering to field procedures; building positive customer relationships; and participating in on-call rotations. Requires ability to work under pressure, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational and communication skills; travel to job sites as needed; safety compliance; and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Off Road Certification or HET Red Seal in Heavy Duty preferred
- At least 3-years’ hands on experience repairing Aerial equipment
- Experience working in an underground mining environment is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A clean and recent driving record will be requested
