Job Summary
(Field Health & Safety Manager) Leads and advances safety culture by developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs across Canada; manages on-site injury/illness training and incident investigation; ensures regulatory compliance and alignment with industry best practices; delivers health and safety training; conducts site inspections and audits; collaborates with customers’ health & safety teams; prepares reports on performance and trends; liaises with regulatory bodies; travels regularly to worksites; resides near Kamloops, with office-based work when not in the field; requires CRSP and Canadian H&S certifications; experience in oil & gas, mining, and construction industries; strong communication and training skills; proficient with H&S software and SMS implementation; willing to travel and participate in on-call emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- CRSP required
- Other Health & Safety certification in Canada is an asset
- Experience with ISNet, Avetta, and similar platforms is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the mining, construction, and/or oil & gas industries
- Extensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Workers Compensation, as well as related provincial regulations and legislation
- In-depth knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and industry best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and training skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with health and safety management software and implementation of an SMS program is a definite asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to travel to various worksites regularly, as well as being on-call for emergencies
- Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
- Provide copies of current certifications
- Clean driver's abstract and a valid Class 5 license
