Job Summary

Commission, maintain, and troubleshoot ICON's 3D printing systems on active construction sites with minimal supervision. Independently resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues while connecting cabling to facilitate printer mobility. Perform preventive maintenance, analyze printer data to foresee issues, and document all repairs and shifts in the ticketing system. Lead coordination of tasks, ensuring safety and compliance, while training and mentoring junior technicians. Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, lifting up to 50 pounds, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and multi-week travel. Requires 3+ years of hands-on field experience and OSHA 10 certification.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years as a Field Technician or equivalent experience in a technical, hands-on role
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and terminate cables (e.g., camlock power, EtherCAT)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Works independently on complex tasks; anticipates issues and mitigates risks
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Takes ownership of decisions in local operations; can guide and mentor peers when needed
  • Proficiency in English, spoken and written
  • OSHA 10, CPR, and heavy equipment certifications
  • Willingness to travel for multiple weeks at a time
  • Flexible availability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and regularly
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below freezing), sun, rain, mud, and areas with limited infrastructure (e.g., lack of electricity)
  • Comfortable standing and moving on your feet for the majority of the workday as well as climbing ladders and carrying material buckets

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, cabling, and related printer systems (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting, including equipment replacement and manual controls
  • Experience in remote device operation and system navigation
  • Proficiency in welding (various types)
  • Experience contributing feedback to refine best practices and improve team workflows
