Job Summary
Field Engineering Specialist responsible for on-site repair, installation, and maintenance of Roche products within the assigned territory. Travel including overnight stays is required to service laboratory customers, diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, perform preventative maintenance, document all activities, and contribute to quality improvements while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Must be able to work in a field-based role with daily travel and strong technical knowledge across electronics, electro-mechanical systems, IT, and basic chemistry; capability to provide after-hours support and maintain customer relationships.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience will suffice
- Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory
- The ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role
- 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience are preferred
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry
- The ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships is essential
