Job Summary
Engineering Manager responsible for all engineering and design activities on the engagement within Hatch’s Project Delivery Group. Leads planning, scope definition, resource planning, onboarding/demobilisation, and provides technical leadership and integration across disciplines. Ensures delivery of all engineering deliverables in accordance with procedures, maintains Safety in Design, and oversees design tools, risk and quality management, and collaboration with Area Engineers/Discipline Leads. Accountable for engagement planning, EWPs, budget/schedule alignment, and coordinating multi-disciplinary efforts to meet project objectives within time and budget; collaborates with client management and internal stakeholders and drives change management and progressive learning in the engineering scope.
Required Qualifications
- BSc/BEng degree in an engineering discipline
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with the governing authority
- Typically, 12 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Typically, 3 years’ experience in managing design engineering teams
- Extensive knowledge of engineering systems, design, and technologies
- Knowledge of industry/regulatory standards and codes
- Ability to plan, coordinate and organise at an advanced level
- Knowledge of project planning, controls and multidisciplinary interdependencies
- Knowledge of 3D model/drawing production and document control
- Knowledge of earned value management and progress assessment
- Ability to adapt to change under high pressure
- Strong communication skills across all levels
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships
- Understanding of procurement, contracting, construction and commissioning methodologies
- Ability to lead, motivate and coach others
- Problem-solving skills with high-level technical detail
