Job Summary
Field Engineer Technician in the Program Management division tasked with designing electric and communication facilities to support new customers and maintain existing infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing and modifying electrical facilities (overhead and underground) per codes and client standards, interfacing with customers via site visits, phone, and email, collecting data to estimate usage and revenue, initiating work orders, generating cost estimates and job sketches, updating client systems, and supporting storm restoration efforts by coordinating with EPB dispatch and field crews. Requires hands-on design experience in electrical distribution, CAD/GIS proficiency, and strong communication with stakeholders. Office-based role with occasional field duties in Chattanooga, TN; standard benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical Distribution Design experience or degree is required
- AA / BA in Electrical Engineering
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution design
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Proficiency in CAD, GIS
- Preferred experience and proficiency in Enquesta, GTECH, GTViewer
- Knowledge of entry-level technical applications
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles
- Strong written and oral speaking skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including customers
- Ability to take on new challenges and learn new skills as needed
- Communication, decision-making, mechanical aptitude, and customer service skills
- The work environment typically represents a standard office setting while occasionally working outside in all terrains and weather conditions
