Job Summary
Provide technical support to field crews by interpreting drawings, specifications, and contract requirements while overseeing layout, surveying, and grade control. Manage subcontractor scopes, force account work, and material quantities to ensure compliance with project specifications and support cost control efforts. Conduct field inspections, assist in safety audits, and enforce OSHA compliance to maintain a safety-first culture. Coordinate with inspectors, suppliers, and the project team to resolve issues, prepare daily reports and RFIs, and utilize construction management software for documentation. Work closely with the superintendent and project manager to facilitate smooth execution and resolve potential delays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 4 years of relevant heavy civil experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in heavy civil construction with an understanding of construction methods, means, and materials
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in outdoor and high-paced field environments
