Field Engineer - Rigging

Job Summary
Rigging specialist Field Engineer role responsibilities include coordinating planning, review, and execution of rigging/heavy haul activities to ensure safe, efficient work; providing technical guidance to construction engineers, superintendents, and craft; preparing lift/heavy haul and transport studies; contributing to the development of transport, heavy haul, and rigging strategies; preparing bid package specifications and evaluating subcontractor bids; assisting in estimates; developing and reviewing medium risk rigging/heavy haul plans and lift data sheets; coordinating with Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineers for critical lifts; monitoring adherence to standard work processes and safety procedures; and working with safety personnel on rigging/heavy haul safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field
- 10-13 years of relevant experience OR 14-17 years of relevant work experience
- Strong English language communication and report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams
- Ability to plan and execute work with minimal supervision
- Extensive knowledge of rigging planning and execution standards
- Experience with lifting equipment, heavy lifting systems, and load distribution
- Knowledge of subcontract administration and contract management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite; experience in 3D/4D modelling
- Familiarity with zero-accident safety philosophy
- Ability to develop lift/heavy haul plans and associated data sheets
- Ability to prepare technical specifications for bid packages and assess subcontractor bids
- Experience with transport/heavy haul planning and crane requirements
- Ability to coordinate with safety personnel on rigging/heavy haul safety procedures
- Bechtel CRE or experience coordinating critical lift/heavy haul studies (preferred)
- Experience in project estimations and development of lift/rigging strategies
