Job Summary
Field Engineer based in Cedar Rapids, IA responsible for supporting field installation activities including walkdowns, layout verification, resolving constructability issues, assisting with inspections, maintaining as-built documentation, and tracking progress/quantities. Key duties include relaying RFIs and submittals, performing site surveys, identifying design interpretations, supporting quality inspections and testing, coordinating with foremen and supervisors, conducting installation audits, and preparing client reports. Requires a BS in Construction Management or related field, experience in electrical/instrumentation construction, ability to read electrical drawings, strong organizational and communication skills, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Construction Management or related field
- Experience in electrical and instrumentation construction preferred
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawing packages and specifications
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
- Must have basic knowledge in estimating and controls
- Working knowledge of MS Office software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Regular and reliable attendance at work
