Job Summary
Field Engineer responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects including grading, utilities, paving, and concrete work. Ensures safety, schedule, and budget compliance; conducts daily site inspections; troubleshoots production issues; coordinates with the Superintendent/Project Manager; assists with project scheduling to ensure material deliveries and crew availability; ensures regulatory compliance (MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR); promotes a safety-first culture; collaborates with crews, inspectors, and subcontractors; calculates truck requirements for hauling aggregate and hot mix asphalt based on capacity, distance, and productivity; reads and interprets plans and specifications; proficient with Microsoft Office; works in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in CEM or related field required
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and field operations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction-related software is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
