Job Summary
Utilize surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for practical field use, ensuring precision in building control lines, column placement, and anchor rod locations. Verify elevation and alignment of embeds, provide as-built drawings, and maintain building plumbness and square by coordinating with other trades for accurate steel placement. Deliver information for column and steel installation alignment, create anchor rod surveys, and assist with various steel installations including monumental stair and shaft steel. Coordinate crane beam installs and steel correlating other trades work affecting placement and accuracy. Promote a strong safety culture while emphasizing core priorities of Safety, Quality, and Production. Work onsite with availability for travel to job sites, utilizing software applications such as Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in Structural Steel Erection
- Experience in surveying slopes/grades/wall lines for miscellaneous metals
- Knowledge of using total station or similar surveying equipment
- Availability for travel to field sites
- Able to work at heights in an aerial lift or on elevated steel floors
- Thorough understanding of AISC requirements for building orientation and alignment
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection and building control lines
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with team members and subcontractors
