Job Summary
Evaluate sites for equipment installation, then install applicable hardware including racks, connect cables, and perform onsite testing. Coordinate with other engineers to ensure systems are implemented on schedule while troubleshooting network connectivity issues. Manage installation teams at field sites and compose technical documentation for all system installations. Travel OCONUS up to 50% to conduct site surveys and deploy devices in remote autonomous environments. Requires TS/SCI clearance and 6+ years of experience with Cisco routers, switches, and UPS systems.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years' experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs
- Expertise, training and actual work experience with specific systems and/or technology
- Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
- Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
- Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection
- Working knowledge of CAT 5, CAT 6, and Fiber Optic cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
- Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office
- Expert knowledge in how to deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer IT infrastructure and enterprise operations
- Ability to complete complex assignments without direction
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot difficult and complex problems while in the field to complete installation successfully
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph from day one of employment and be crossover eligible
- OCONUS TDY Required: Yes, up to 50%
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
