Job Summary
Perform Home Energy Audits in accordance with New Construction RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines within a 100-mile radius centered on Fairfax, VA. responsibilities include visual inspections of materials and control assemblies, data collection, testing of energy-efficient features using equipment for infiltration, blower door, ventilation, and duct leakage testing, adjusting system settings to meet design/manufacturer specs, developing professional relationships with builders and code officials, preparing electronic audit reports, completing internal paperwork, maintaining equipment, and performing additional inspections as needed within the geographic area.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Certificate
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with insurable driving record
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel daily to job sites
- HERS Rater, Energy Star, Green Building, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI, and LEED Certifications are a plus
- 2 years of work experience in HVAC, home remodeling, or construction is helpful
- Must be personable, enthusiastic, well-groomed, articulate, and able to convey technical information in plain language
- Must be adaptable as audit/inspections will fluctuate with client construction schedules
- Must be organized, dependable, self-directed, and able to complete projects with limited supervision
- Must be willing to obtain additional certifications/licenses as required
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel daily to job sites
