Job Summary
Conduct Home Energy Audits in accordance with New Construction RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines, including visual inspections of materials, data collection on energy-efficient features, and utilization of equipment for infiltration, blower door, and duct leakage testing. Adjust system settings to meet design or manufacturer specifications and prepare electronic written reports of audit findings. Maintain equipment per company policy and manufacturer specifications while completing assigned third-party inspections within a 100-mile radius centered in Hackettstown, NJ. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel daily to job sites.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree or Vocational Certificate in the Skilled Trades Industry
- Must be physically able to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying equipment, climbing ladders, work in confined spaces (attics/crawl spaces), and using small tools and testing equipment
- Must be personable, enthusiastic, well-groomed, articulate, and able to convey technical information in plain language
- Must be adaptable as audit/inspections will fluctuate with client construction schedules
- Must be organized, dependable, self-directed, and able to complete projects with limited supervision
- Must be willing to obtain additional certifications/licenses as required
- Valid driver's license in good standing with insurable driving record
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel daily to job sites
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and/or drug testing, in accordance with local law/regulations
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- HERS Rater, Energy Star, Green Building, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI, and LEED Certifications
- 2 years of work experience in HVAC, home remodeling, or construction
