Job Summary
Field Engineer II – 1099 Contractor for Acuative's telecommunications field services. You will install and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, WAPs) and telephony equipment, support retail technology systems (POS, digital signage, video surveillance), perform circuit extensions, structured cabling, site surveys/audits, and install satellite/antenna hardware. On-site work within ~50 miles of Phoenix area (travel to Medford/Klamath Falls in OR per postings) with 4-hour response times and typical 2–4 hour on-site completions. Tools include Windows PC, MS Office, mobile hotspot, company laptop, safety gear; must have valid driver’s license and pass drug/background checks; duties emphasize hands-on hardware, configuration support, and site installations including LEO satellites, fixed wireless antennas, and cabling. Proficiency required in VOIP/PBX/KP systems, server/PC hardware, and cabling standards and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications :
- Working knowledge of networking hardware and topologies.
- Familiarity with networking products and interfacing.
- Understanding of telephony systems (VOIP, PBX, Key Systems) with an ability to provide hands-on hardware and troubleshooting support.
- Knowledge of computing systems hardware with the ability to provide break/fix support for desktop PC and/or servers.
- Physical installations of a wide variety of hardware including routers, switches, WAPs, servers, POS systems, digital signage systems, LEO Satellite (such as Starlink), FWA (Fixed Wireless Access Antennas) and associated peripheral equipment.
- Ability to provide configuration support for a variety of technology platforms through console and remote applications.
- Experience with LEC circuit identification and extensions.
- Familiarity with cabling standards and the ability to pull and terminate cabling in a variety of customer environments (66 blocks, FDP, etc).
- Ability to operate basic power tools – drills, saws, etc.
- Work on ladders and lifts where required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
- Ability to follow detailed job documents.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
