Job Summary
Evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues in hospital radiology environments to implement appropriate repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on designated equipment while conducting safety and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines. Complete service and repair documentation following hospital protocol and GEHC policies, maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up. Learn proper tool and test equipment care, ensuring calibration and enhancing technical knowledge of current standards and codes. Mentor experienced technicians on progressive repairs and work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery. Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines and report customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.
Required Qualifications
- AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, current student with less than 12 months from completion OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT or mechanical equipment
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
- Must be flexible to support customer needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or adjusted hours based on service or customer requirements
- Travel to customer locations may be required, depending on market and business needs
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 35 pounds unassisted
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level
- Ability to flex and extend neck
- Ability to demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
- Must successfully complete GE HealthCare background checks
- Must successfully complete post‐offer drug testing
- Must obtain and/or provide proof of required immunizations
- Must complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and perform effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy-to-understand manner
- Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations
- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process
- Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices
- Change agent and process oriented
- Local candidates strongly preferred
- Candidates who are open to relocation may increase their chances of placement into a full-time internal role
