Job Summary
Senior quantum field engineer role based in South Korea focused on driving customer-facing technical discovery and translation of client needs into technical projects. Responsibilities include leading technical discussions and demos, mapping quantum algorithms to application code, guiding proof-of-concept to production workflows across domains like financial services, bioscience, chemistry, materials, and AI; collaborating with Applications, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development to bring quantum applications to life; and communicating IonQ’s portfolio and strategy to customers while enabling technical outcomes across APAC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or another STEM field or higher
- 5+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Qiskit, Cirq or other quantum SDKs
- Ability to map client needs to technical workstreams and deliver proofs of concept or production workflows
- Experience in roles such as field engineering, solutions architecture, technical sales, customer engineering or applied science
- Master’s or PhD preferred (additional depth through experience)
