Job Summary
Field Engineer in Reno, NV responsible for commissioning and validating hybrid energy systems (AMSS) at project sites, supporting project delivery from execution to post-commissioning and operations, and coordinating with customers, utilities, and partners to implement electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Requires familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and controls for power systems, experience with remote metering/data acquisition/instrumentation, and ability to train Aggreko personnel. Travel 50%+. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited or equivalent), 2+ years in mechanical/electrical field work, 1+ year in hybrid energy systems (PV, gas, diesel, BESS, transmission/distribution), knowledge of electrical safety, and knowledge of large-scale battery energy storage components; willingness to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (ABET accredited or approved equal)
- 2+ years field experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- 1+ field experience in hybrid energy systems (PV, Gas, Diesel, BESS, transmission, distribution)
- Experience in electrical safety and hazard awareness
- Knowledge of large scale battery energy storage systems and related components (e.g. DC battery systems, inverter technology, transformers and switchgear, grid access, low voltage auxiliaries, HVAC design, enclosures)
- Experienced in planning, commissioning and decommissioning of electrical power systems equipment
- Availability to travel to support business needs and for training and in possession of valid local Driving License as per the need of the business
