Job Summary
As Field Engineer, you will provide pre-deploymen t, execution and closeout support for Field Services Projects. You will deploy to the work site with the project team, assume designated ownership of technical and quality aspects, guide trades/technicians, review scopes against CSA/ASME standards, lead risk and quality activities, train staff, and provide daily progress updates. The role emphasizes adherence to Nuclear Services Operating Procedures, regulatory alignment with CSA/ASME standards, tech-reporting, lessons-learned documentation, and collaboration with customers and regulators. A 6-month contract with a hybrid work schedule is noted, along with requirements for a BAS/Applied Science engineering degree, relevant industry experience, professional designation progression, and security clearance. The position demands strong technical writing, communication, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into field procedures, plus leadership in project readiness, issue escalation, and on-site execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Applied Science in engineering + 4 years of industry experience
- Working toward Professional Engineer of Ontario designation
- Working knowledge of materials and field execution practices
- Working knowledge of Non Destructive Examination applications
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes ASME III, V, VIII, IX, N285
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Standards N286, N299
- Proficient knowledge of materials, machining techniques, field execution practices
- Proficient writing of technical reports
- Professional level English verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of Human Performance tools
- Understanding of Foreign Material Exclusion and prevention practices
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into field executable procedures
- Ability to train engineers, technicians, and trades in technically complex operations
- Proficient in executing work on critical path
- Proficient in providing work direction on critical path
- Must have a valid driver’s license and mode of transportation
- Must have a nuclear security clearance
- Security clearance process may take up to 12 months to complete
