Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons – Midwest Region - Obesity and Related Conditions

Job Summary
Manage a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in the Midwest, providing strategic direction, performance coaching, and compliance oversight to advance clinical practice and patient outcomes. Develop field medical strategies and Scientific Engagement Plans in collaboration with leadership, while overseeing peer-to-peer scientific engagement with Opinion Leaders and healthcare providers. Ensure the team adheres to all administrative responsibilities, identifies training needs, and guides MSLs in communicating clinical value to Integrated Delivery Networks. Represent the Field Medical team to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align field observations with Amgen's broader therapeutic strategy for Obesity and Related Conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree & 4 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Master's degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor's degree & 10 years of Medical Affairs experience
- 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Obesity and Related Conditions expertise
Desired Qualifications
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
- Seven years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Seven or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research
- Experience in a medically related field can include postdoctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships)
- 3 + years in a medical science liaison role in a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Three years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
