Job Summary

Coordinate and supervise field crews across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and other Southern U.S. states for Phase I, II, and III archaeological investigations. Direct site surveys, excavations, and data collection while utilizing GPS equipment and GIS software to document findings. Assist in client communication, maintain accurate project records, and mentor junior staff in field methods and best practices. Monitor progress and solve problems to ensure work completes on time and within budget while adhering to state and federal guidelines. Requires travel to project sites, on-site attendance, and physical ability to work outdoors and lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (M.A. or M.S.) or higher in Anthropology/Archaeology
  • Minimum of two years of experience in cultural resource management (CRM)
  • At least one full year of supervisory fieldwork experience
  • Familiarity with historic preservation laws and regulations, particularly Section 106
  • Strong background in archaeological field methods
  • Proficiency in using GPS equipment and related field technologies
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be able to travel to project sites
  • Residence within commuting distance of the New Orleans office will be preferred
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
