Field Diesel Service Technician

Job Summary

Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy construction equipment while adhering to OEM specifications and service standards. Execute diagnostic reasoning to repair and recondition all equipment components with minimal supervision. Operate heavy machinery safely, collect data for inventory control, and complete all required paperwork. Maintain a clean, safe working environment and care for shop tools and vehicles. Build knowledge of dealer product lines and attend service schools as requested. Work overtime and travel with overnight stays when needed, including weekends. Maintain close relationships with service, parts, and administrative personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-year Diesel Technology/Automotive Technology degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
  • Class A CDL License or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to own or acquire required tools
  • Excellent customer service skills, both internal and external customers
  • Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Solid equipment and mechanical knowledge
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Positive mental attitude
