Job Summary
Field Diesel Mechanic at United Rentals with Service Tech III - Field Service responsibilities including safe maintenance/repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel), travel to customer sites, equipment pickup/delivery, and documentation. Opportunities for training other technicians, career development, and leadership within the Service Department; requires HS diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, 3-5 years of hands-on equipment repair, strong mechanical and tool knowledge, and ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Emphasis on customer service, teamwork, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
- This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
