Field Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
Perform accurate diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of machine systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including pre-delivery work and warranty repairs. Provide professional field service as directed by the Service Manager, potentially during weekends or after hours. Communicate findings and timelines clearly with equipment owners while managing all parts and supplies required for repairs. Complete work orders and service documentation accurately. Participate in ongoing technical training to maintain product knowledge and proactively recommend maintenance solutions that improve equipment performance. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations while working in the shop or field.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of related experience
- Associate's Degree in Diesel Equipment Technology or related program
- 1+ years of successfully completing tasks with limited supervision
- Clean driving record
- Must have own tools
- Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time with occasional overnights and perform 50% or more work offsite/in the field
- Ability to work flexible/on-call hours
- Keen attention to detail
- High level of initiative
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional documentation abilities
- Exceptional communication abilities
