Job Summary
Summer internship at FMC Corporation’s research station teams in Rochelle, IL and Madera, CA. Interns will assist field station managers with the station evaluation program, set up small plot field trials, calibrate equipment, measure and mix pesticides, spray plots, collect data, maintain plots, monitor insect traps, conduct field scouting, and participate in general farm operations such as planting, cultivating, irrigating, discing, or mowing. Students will summarize results from field trials using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and FMC corporate systems.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to carry a 20 to 50 lb. backpack on uneven ground
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Enrolled in a School of Agricultural, Plant Sciences, or similar educational discipline
- Candidates must have completed the first year of undergrad
- Experience handling farm equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word
