Job Summary
The Field CTO will serve as Gravitee’s most senior technical leader in the field, advising enterprise executives on modernization, API management, AI governance, and agent-driven architectures. Responsibilities include guiding architecture decisions and governance models, engaging CIOs/CTOs and engineering leaders in executive briefings and architecture reviews, developing reference architectures for enterprise AI adoption, and influencing product strategy and strategic engagements. The role demands strong expertise across API management, event-driven and distributed systems, AI architectures (LLMs, AI agents, agent orchestration, MCP servers, AI gateways), cloud-native and multi-cloud environments, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value while driving thought leadership and customer outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, software architecture, platform engineering, API management, integration technologies, or related technical leadership roles
- Deep expertise in API management, API security, API governance, and distributed systems
- Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise integration and event-driven architectures
- Demonstrated experience with AI architectures, including LLMs, AI agents, agent orchestration, MCP servers, AI gateways, and AI governance frameworks
- Experience engaging directly with executive stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, and engineering leadership
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and strategic customer engagements
- Preferred experience with cloud-native architectures across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Experience with Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, and platform engineering practices
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks, MCP, A2A protocols, and emerging AI standards
- Prior experience at an API management, integration, observability, cloud infrastructure, security, or AI platform company
- Existing presence within the developer, architecture, or AI communities through speaking engagements, publications, podcasts, or industry contributions
