Job Summary
Maintain the playing field to ensure optimal playability and player safety through mowing grass, edging, watering, and painting foul lines. Perform dirt and turf maintenance by leveling, dragging, raking the pitcher's mound, and filling holes. Manage weather conditions by deploying and removing infield tarps, and handle equipment such as batting cages and bases for pre-game practice. Sweep home plate, rake the infield dirt between innings, and assist with projects including sod replacements, new field installations, and off-season renovations. Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by management. This demanding physical labor role involves lifting 50 pounds and working in hot, wet, humid conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with turf sports fields, sports facilities and associated grounds and equipment
- Knowledge/experience maintaining natural grass and synthetic surfaces
- Available and willing to work long hours and varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of irrigation repairs and maintenance is a plus
