Job Summary
Conduct residential land surveys using GPS, total stations, and data collectors to determine elevations and property boundaries. Perform duties including cutting brush, marking measurement points, and performing accurate simple calculations. Maintain equipment and vehicle readiness, ensuring proper supplies are loaded each morning and returned at shift end. Download and upload survey data to the company network, resolve customer issues, and adhere to all safety and ethical policies. Work Monday through Friday with seasonal weekend coverage, starting from home in a company vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED diploma
- Valid Driver's License
- driving record that meets our insurance requirements
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide and perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance and understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
- Able to operate instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, GPS)
- Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally (with assistance)
- Must be available for weekends during seasonal months
- Must be located in the DC area
Desired Qualifications
- Two years job related experience in the surveying industry
