Field Construction Manager

Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities, including electromechanical and civil work, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements. Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to specifications, and facilitate resolution of construction issues by collaborating with engineering, contractors, and suppliers. Monitor project progress, maintain documentation, and prepare weekly and monthly reports, including site minutes and two-week look-ahead schedules. Review contractor invoices, schedules, and change orders to provide recommendations and minimize change orders. Manage material deliveries, inspect materials for damage, and maintain accurate as-built project plans and logs for correspondence. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 10 years of relevant experience, including ten years in the electric utility industry. Candidates must hold a NICET Level III certification, possess strong communication skills, and have valid US work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education
- 10 years relevant experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive related electric utility industry experience
- transmission facilities construction management experience
- NICET Level III certification
- Must be an Authorized Person approved by both Divisions (Binghamton and Elmira) to hold Clearances, Assurances, and Permissions
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors
- Ability to investigate and solve construction problems in a timely manner with minimum dependence on others
- Computer and Administrative skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have current US Work authorization
- valid US Driver License in good standing
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years' experience in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of NRA clearances and switching orders
- Knowledge of GPS Systems
