Job Summary
Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues, preparing complete repair estimates and accessing roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and basements. Handle moderate to complex claims independently from first notice of loss to final closure while coordinating vendor services for contractors, emergency repairs, and cleaning. Explain coverage of loss, assist policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs, and additional living arrangements, and work in a vehicle daily with occasional desk assignments. May be called upon for catastrophe duty. This role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least one year in claims, proper licensing, and strong negotiation skills. Candidates must live within or near Clinton, MD, and complete a five-month training program including virtual learning and two in-person sessions.

- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exhibiting good judgment
- Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills with the ability to work with multi-faceted systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of directly related experience
- Ability to obtain proper licensing as required
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and organize your day
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated understanding of building construction principles
- 10% travel
