Job Summary
Prepare monthly billing adjustments, obtain required approvals, and enter corrections into the billing system following standard operating procedures. Research and resolve routine and non-routine billing questions, discrepancies, and unidentified or misapplied payments by determining appropriate adjustment codes and reviewing invoices for completeness. Gather supplemental billing information, calculate manual billings for complex arrangements, and post case receipts based on lock box reports. Process customer payments, including accepting credit card payments over the phone and preparing remittance advices. Act as a resource for less experienced personnel by answering questions and providing training and support.
Required Qualifications
- Directly related experience in which incumbents have worked with customers in a billing function in a service-based industry
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of billing transactions and processes
- MS Excel skills at an intermediate level
- Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- The ability to effectively interact and communicate with division managers as well as customers in a professional manner
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Good math aptitude and the ability to work accurately with numbers
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 18 months of related billing experience
