Job Summary
Field BCI Specialist (Clinical Development) leads in-home patient sessions (up to 80–90%), trains patients and caregivers on Synchron’s brain–computer interface systems, owns system setup and optimization across hardware/software, monitors session quality in real-world environments, troubleshoots issues, builds empathetic relationships with patients and study staff, and coordinates with Clinical Ops, Data Science, Engineering, and Quality to ensure high-quality data and actionable insights. The role executes IRB-approved clinical trial activities per SOPs and GCP, documents outcomes and findings, and provides field feedback to improve patient experience, training materials, and product optimization. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and 3+ years of patient-facing clinical experience; travel to patient sites is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or equivalent clinical/technical experience
- 3+ years of patient-facing clinical experience, such as Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Nursing (RN/LPN), Rehab-adjacent, Assistive Technology, Neurology
- Experience working with neurologically affected or medically complex populations strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently in home, hospital, and research environments
- Demonstrated ability to learn, operate, and troubleshoot technical hardware and software systems
- Valid driver’s license and enthusiasm for field-based work and travel
