Job Summary
The Field Automation Tech/Programmer is responsible for creating and managing PLC and HMI programs based on client communication. The role requires in-depth knowledge of various programming suites and languages, as well as experience in data signaling. Candidates must be adept at deploying and maintaining edge devices, and comfortable with networking and data collection technologies. The position demands fieldwork, frequent interaction with clients and contractors, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Must be available for on-call responsibilities and flexible with work hours.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to create PLC/HMI program from scratch
- Experience with data collection and signaling
- Manage deployment of edge devices
- Willingness to spend time in the field
- Willingness to take on-call shifts
- Willingness to learn new products
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to work long days/weekends when asked
Desired Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of Allen-Bradley’s studio suite
- Basic programming skills in python, java, html, and adobe
- Knowledge of cradlepoint/sierra wireless/pepwave cellular modems
- General networking design and implementation
- Comfortable with Microsoft office suite, particularly excel
