Field Assessor - Commercial & Industrial Properties (Travel Required)

Job Summary
Conduct on-site physical building assessments for commercial, residential, and industrial properties, performing QA/QC inspections of electrical, mechanical, fire, and structural systems. Identify deficiencies, hazards, or non-compliant issues and recommend corrective actions, then prepare proprietary reports with required photographs and supporting documentation. Communicate site visit results and compliance issues to key stakeholders while adhering to all company safety standards and travel policies. Submit timely expense reports and maintain a clean motor vehicle record. Requires extensive travel up to 75% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- 2+ years of experience in the field of property condition assessments
- Experience in the MEP trades, home inspections or facilities maintenance
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
- A motor vehicle background check showing no serious traffic violations (i.e., DUI, DWI)
- A motor vehicle background check showing no criminal motor vehicle convictions
- A motor vehicle background check showing no moving violations that demonstrate a significant disregard for the safe operation of motor vehicles
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to communicate technical issues in written reports to clients with limited technical understanding in building systems and finishes
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Enthusiasm and being a quick learner with a strong desire to grow within the organization
- A problem-solving disposition
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for internal and external (client) communications
- Exceptional technical writing skills
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to effectively complete work on projects concurrently
- Proven ability to successfully deliver a quality product on time
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
- Proficiency with standard business applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
- Visual acuity adequate to perform office and job-site duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
- Ability to climb a ladder
