Job Summary
The Field Applications Scientist I role requires providing pre- and post-sales technical and scientific support for Watchmaker Genomics’ NGS and precision enzyme product portfolio. Key responsibilities include supporting customer and distributor needs through training, troubleshooting, and attending trade shows. The role involves up to 75% travel within the EMEA region and demands strong knowledge of NGS products along with practical experience in high-throughput sequencing labs. Candidates must possess a MSc in a relevant scientific field and have at least 4 years of field applications experience.
Required Qualifications
- MSc in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
- 4+ Years experience within NGS field applications
- Ability to travel up to 75% of time
- Strong customer consultative skills including scientific knowledge application and exceptional customer engagement
- High self-motivation and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of experimental design, applications/assay development, NGS library preparation, PCR, qPCR, good lab practices, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com) highly desirable.
- Fluent in multiple languages is a plus (German, preferred).
