Job Summary
Field Applications Engineer at Sensata’s Industrial BU focusing on the HVAC and clean energy industrial product portfolio. Serves as a technical customer interface, supporting new product development, defining and communicating technical requirements, performing analyses (including failure analysis and FAEs), and assisting with quotations and proposals. Collaborates with engineering, sales, and cross-functional teams; provides onsite technical assistance to support the sales team at customer demonstrations and industry events; travels to customer sites to present and problem-solve, and helps refine standard product configurations. Requires knowledge of electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control, and familiarity with insulation monitoring devices, refrigerant leak detection sensors, circuit breakers; capable of engaging with customers to address technical questions, develop product understandings, and drive successful deployments. Also involves interpreting customer requirements, preparing Failure Analysis Reports, and maintaining strong relationships across all organizational levels.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Travel 35%-40%
- Experience with customer interaction face to face, on calls and presentations
- Lead technical engagement with customer focusing on industrial products
