Field Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

Job Summary
The Field Applications Engineer is responsible for enabling industry customers to integrate microscopy tools into their semiconductor processes. Key responsibilities include providing on-site technical support, developing solutions for customer challenges, supporting new technologies, and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Ideal candidates will have a strong educational background in relevant sciences, hands-on experience with advanced microscopy techniques, and an understanding of semiconductor technologies. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Dual Beam, focused ion beam scanning and electron microscopy (FIB/SEM), or Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
- Understanding of semiconductor processing, statistical process control, device physics, and failure analysis techniques
- Excellent, clear communication skills
- Excellent problem-analysis and solving skills
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 40%) and possession of a valid passport
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with coding or scripting (C#, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Metrology experience within the semiconductor industry
