Job Summary
Deliver premium technical support to customers and drive design-in activity for MPU-based embedded systems within NXP’s Global Sales organization. Lead proof-of-concept, solution design, and demonstrations to secure design-wins; qualify sales opportunities and articulate NXP’s value proposition relative to competition. Own system software architecture discussions to ensure the software value proposition is understood by broader technical teams. Build strong relationships with sales, business lines, partners, and customers; develop target application knowledge in Automotive and Industrial markets; educate Field Sales Engineers on new technologies and product features; travel up to 30% to customer sites and regional teams. Engage in ecosystem positioning, roadmap feedback, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate design-in and revenue growth. Ensure accurate technical messaging across embedded firmware, hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART, USB), and software drivers; leverage Real-Time OS and embedded Linux capabilities; apply system-level thinking to customer deployments, including Edge AI considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support of microprocessor based embedded systems
- Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
- Experience with C and C++ and a record of developing embedded firmware
- Knowledge of typical SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR4/5, Quad/Octal SPI, USB2.0/3.0, UART, SPI, I2C)
- Knowledge of standard Industrial communications protocols (PROFINET, EtherCAT, TSN)
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex A and Cortex M based architectures and register programming models
- Experience using Real-Time OS systems
- Knowledge in embedded Linux is essential: kernel and user-space and uboot environments
- Hands on knowledge of graphics and video subsystems and related software drivers helpful
- Knowledge of Edge AI applications deployment is beneficial
- Ability to read, understand and review schematics and provide design recommendations highly desirable
- Willing to travel up to 30% within continental US
- Experienced in providing technical training to sales staff and distributors
- Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
- Develop system level understanding of target end-applications
- Develops system level knowledge of target application spaces in Automotive and Industrial vertical markets
