Field Applications Engineer

Job Summary

Conduct technical product application support, product demonstrations, and direct customer visits to cultivate business opportunities. Plan territory technical sales visits, coordinate on-the-job training for new opportunities, and generate training reports to capture all engagements. Design PV layouts in IR and other software to support sales and end users, while accurately documenting application support questions and calls. Provide feedback to Engineering and Product Teams regarding product improvements and market intelligence, including competitive landscape analysis and code compliance updates. Organize curriculum development for new products, including reference libraries and visual aids, and leverage professional networks with non-competing manufacturers to generate demand. Maintain records and report relevant changes in weekly meetings to keep stakeholders apprised of product and market trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training or a bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical installation and engineering, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift and carry solar modules up to 50 lbs
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, including rooftop
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (CRM systems), and MS Excel and able to learn and adapt to a variety of software tools.
  • Competency in solar layout, design, mounting, waterproofing, and racking for residential and light commercial installations.
  • Ability to speak in public to small and large groups.
  • OSHA 10 Construction required
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to travel

  • NABCEP certification a plus
