Job Summary
Provide DFM and DFV support to customer engineering teams for new designs and existing improvements, focusing on reducing design cycle time. Collaborate with designers to improve quality by identifying manufacturability and reliability issues, conduct drawing reviews prior to release, and update groups on TTM capabilities and the technology roadmap. Facilitate technical needs with internal engineering and operations, assist pre-production teams through stack-up and DFM approval, and establish contacts to drive improved communication channels. Travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time to support discussions and key programs, creating technical presentations with the sales team. This role interfaces regularly with Sales, Development, Pre-Production, and Operations to balance communication channels while supporting QTA/NPI/Production Manufacturing for Aerospace & Defense customers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- 5-7+ years of experience in engineering activities related to PCB manufacturing
- Intermediate level skills using PCB CAM software
- drawing / blueprint interpretation skills
- use of PCB stack-up tools
- Minimum level experience of electrical design performance and signal integrity (Impedance, RF, and Insertion loss)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project
- Travel for customer visits and TTM North American sites required up to 25% of the time
- Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC
- being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents
- recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation
- understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL)
- understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US
- manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services
Desired Qualifications
- East Coast-based candidates
- Thorough knowledge of industry specification (IPC) requirements as well as customer developed specifications requirements
- Thorough understanding of TTM manufacturing and design capabilities and value add offerings to support QTA/NPI/Production Manufacturing for Aerospace & Defense customers
- Ability to establish contacts and build relationships with customers to drive improved communication and partnership
- Ability to make routine decisions with general direction provided by department Manager
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well with customers design groups
- Strong printed circuit engineering background and knowledge of entire PCB manufacturing process including process flows, individual processing steps, and pre-production tooling
- Self-motivated and willing to work with minimum supervision
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred
