Job Summary
Lead weekly Beginner Fiddle sessions (Make Music Adults) as part of The Glasshouse programme, developing and delivering inclusive music learning activities, performances, rehearsals and resources. Responsibilities include contributing to artistic design and planning, attending meetings and training, creating teaching materials, and supporting recruitment of participant musicians. Requirements include violin/fiddle (and/or brass) leadership experience with adults, inclusive pedagogy, safeguarding knowledge, strong written communication, and collaboration within a team. Sessions run Thursdays 8–9:30pm across a 10-week block; role involves 1.5 hours per week with a focus on developing learners from absolute beginner to intermediate levels and contributing to programme development and inclusion goals. Safeguarding and equal opportunities are emphasized in the role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Violin/Fiddle playing and/or Brass leading at a professional level
- Leading groups of adults of varying abilities
- Inclusive music pedagogy and practice
- Developing teaching materials for music education
- Safeguarding in education contexts
- Excellent written communication skills
- Organisational skills
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
