Job Summary
Identify defects such as cracks, blisters, stress fractures, and cosmetic flaws in fiberglass. Grind out defective areas, smooth rough edges, and shape surfaces to match contours. Mix gel coat catalyst, spray or brush repaired surfaces, match colors, and buff and polish the work. Estimate repair times, plan for materials, coordinate jobs with management, and maintain accurate records of repairs and time spent. Collaborate with team members and provide guidance as needed while maintaining a clean, safe work environment adhering to OSHA standards. Stay updated on industry techniques and materials.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a fiberglass specialist
- 2+ years of experience in Gel Coat repair
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- Customer satisfaction, both internal and external
Desired Qualifications
- Maritime experience
- Additional training or certifications in marine repair or fiberglass work
