Job Summary
Fiberglass Final Finish role responsible for inspecting, repairing, buffing, and polishing cured fiberglass components to meet cosmetic and structural standards; perform sanding, grinding, filling defects, spraying gelcoat, and buffing to achieve a smooth, defect-free finish. Requires operation and maintenance of hand and power tools, adherence to safety and quality standards including chemical handling and PPE, FRP/gelcoat repair experience, attention to detail for cosmetic defects, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with physical demands, and following verbal and written directions.
Required Qualifications
- Proper operation, maintenance and proficiency with hand and power tools (sanders, spray guns, polishers) and safe handling/disposal of chemical materials like resins and solvents.
- Ability to follow and understand all safety and quality standards always, including chemical handling standards and PPE.
- Experience with fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), gelcoat repair, and, generally, finishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying any cosmetic defects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands like some heavy lifting and maneuvering around large parts.
- Work by following specific job instructions including understanding and following verbal and written directions.
