Fiber Splicer Technician

Job Summary
Install, splice, and repair fiber optic network infrastructure across OSP distribution, customer terminations, and NIDs while performing contractor QA checks. Troubleshoot service issues using optical test equipment including OTDRs and PON meters to validate network performance and restore connectivity. Respond to outages and natural disasters with a 24/7/365 on-call rotation, maintaining readiness for emergency field work and mandatory overtime. Deliver exceptional customer service during installations and troubleshooting at residential and commercial sites. Maintain full accountability for safety, equipment, and workmanship compliance with OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of telecommunications experience
- strong knowledge of fiber splicing, OSP infrastructure, and network testing practices
- Proficiency with optical test equipment including OTDR, PON meters, volt/ohm meters, and toners
- competency with core alignment splicing machines for drops and pigtails
- valid driver's license with a clean MVR
- ability to pass a pre-employment screening
- ability to drive during nighttime and adverse weather conditions
- Computer skills sufficient to process trouble tickets
- proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
