Job Summary
Perform end-of-line network testing to verify light levels and balanced signal transmission while preparing, labeling, and organizing cables to minimize installation errors. Build, splice, seal, and maintain fiber cases, enclosures, tie points, and jumper cases by reading splice matrices, blueprints, and redline maps to identify fiber routes. Pull cable through duct packages, conduits, underground, and aerial lines using manual, blowing, or mechanical methods, and conduct troubleshooting, audits, case swaps, and rehabilitation of gel-filled fiber enclosures. Coordinate fiber installation and maintenance activities to ensure high-quality network performance for Congruex field teams and telecommunications clients.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Ability to perform physical labor, climb ladders and poles, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to distinguish colors accurately for proper fiber splicing and connections
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and timekeeping
- Ability to maintain a neat, organized, and safe work environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and other required PPE
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in fiber splicing, telecommunications construction, or fiber optic installation preferred
- Experience reading blueprints, splice matrices, and utility maps
- Previous experience with underground and aerial fiber installations
- Familiarity with fiber optic testing and splicing tools
