Job Summary
Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cables from network distribution points to customer homes, performing fusion splicing and conducting light-level testing to verify signal strength. Configure Optical Network Terminals and Wi-Fi routers, setting up internet services with specific parameters like SSID and DHCP. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to connections and equipment, while maintaining detailed records of all installations and fault-handling activities. Provide customer education on service usage and basic troubleshooting. Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained safely in adherence to company protocols. Requires proven fiber installation experience, proficiency with splicing tools, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in installing, terminating, and splicing fiber optic cables
- Proficiency in using fiber optic tools, including fusion splicers and optical power meters
- Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi router configurations and home networking principles
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Good English speaking and comprehension skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
