Fiber Optic Technician

Job Summary
Install and repair customer FTTX broadband and voice services, including aerial and buried service drop cabling, ONTs, and network interface devices. Complete quality control functions for installation technicians, restore services after trouble ticket dispatch, and track feeder construction progress. Maintain inventory between technicians and warehouses by documenting assignments, communicating with field personnel, and reconciling stock levels. Update equipment associated with customers and document all processes and procedures. Perform interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category ethernet cables while safely operating a company vehicle and working from ladders up to 25 feet.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma
- P.C. and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs
- Safely operate a company vehicle
- Strong communication skills
- Initiative to work remotely with limited supervision
- Strong leadership skills
- Physically able to lift 100 pounds
- Safely working from ladders and ability to climb poles to 25'
