Job Summary

Fiber Infrastructure Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and expanding euNetworks’ fiber infrastructure. Hands-on tasks include OTDR measurements, fusion splicing, and installation/expansion projects in the field and in data centres. Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure high network availability and quality. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance of passive fiber infrastructure, expanding backbone cables and building new fiber POPs, locating and fixing faults with OTDR, conducting on-site surveys and accurate documentation, performing acceptance testing per euNetworks standards, participating in large-scale national and international projects, coordinating with partners, and rotating 24/7 on-call coverage. Work environment spans modern data centres and field locations such as manholes and duct systems. Requirements include completed technical training or equivalent, driving licence, and German/English language skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed technical training (e.g., IT systems electronics, telecommunications engineering, electrical trades) or equivalent specialised further training with proven professional experience in fiber infrastructure.
  • Mobility: Valid driving licence class B required, BE preferred.
  • Languages: Very good German and at least basic English.
