Job Summary
Experienced Fiber I&R Technician – Indiana needed to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers across Indiana (with current needs in Lafayette and Terre Haute). Responsibilities include pre-install work orders and post-install service verification, placing aerial or buried fiber drops, installing interior and exterior wiring, ensuring internet/phone/TV service performance, observing OSHA safety rules, working outdoors in all weather and at heights, assisting other technicians, maintaining customer appointments and quality metrics, adaptability to new processes, and potential relocation across regions to support client work volumes. Requires strong communication, teamwork, ability to convey product information professionally, and tool/equipment readiness. Must possess a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year fiber experience, own tools and a vehicle, a smartphone (Android/Samsung Galaxy S23+), a laptop with Excel, ability to lift 80 lbs, pass background/MVR/drug tests, and be available for overtime/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent such as the GED from an accredited educational institution
- 1+ year Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience
- Must have own company required tools and safety equipment to perform the job
- Must have own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack and minimum liability insurance of 100/300/100
- Android smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone or newer, is required
- Laptop with Microsoft Excel is required
- Lift up to 80lbs unassisted
- Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Must pass background check, MVR screen, and drug test
- Must be accountable and dependable
- Must have the ability to work overtime and on weekends depending on the needs of the customer
